How did you get started and where have you worked before SWYD?
I've loved barbering since a young age finally got into it at 25 where I worked in Swansea city centre before joining the SWYD team.
Did you go to collage/university or are you self taught?
I learned basic skills but would class myself as self taught and constantly learning.
How would you describe what you do?
Not only do we give people haircuts we give people a new lease of life making people feel better about themselves.
What do you like about what you do?
I like how there is such a great community between most barbers across the world of barbering, it's like a community I have made some good friendships purely from cutting hair.
How many years have you been barbering?
About 4 years officially but have always been cutting and styling hair from a young age
What advice would you give to anyone wanting to become a barber?
Don't do it because you think it's cool, do it because you love it and when you do it because you love it you will never have to work it will be your life
Share a horror story and how you got out of it...
When cutting a friends hair doing a number 2 on the sides in between blending I didn't put the 2 guard on and went straight in with a 0, I managed to talk him into having a little temple taper.... I learnt to always check the correct guard before setting off every time now.
What interests do you have outside of work?
Spending time with my wife and children, and getting down to the football as often as possible.
Who inspires you?
I don't really have a particular person to inspire me I get inspired when I see people doing a great hair cut and seeing how much of a buzz it can give people seeing that makes me want to push my game up also.
Explain your set up and preferred brands.
My preferred brand is Wahl I only use Wahl clippers I love the way the feel and how comfortable they are to use, I can't see myself using anything else.
